Glasgow University Clearance

November 12, 2020

Our line of work often takes us into all kinds of weird and wonderful settings.  None more so than the basement of the Hunterian Museum of Glasgow University.

Photos sometime just don't do jobs justice, this is certainly the case here! We completed a large scale clearance of the entire basement ahead of asbestos works that had been scheduled.

We disposed of over 15 ton of just about everything. There were large quantities of WEEE including fridges/freezers and IT, redundant furniture and lots of other items which had been dumped there over the years.

The biggest issue we had was that most of the ceiling heights were 4ft, our average height 6ft +, you can see the problem! One positive to take from lockdown was that the campus was quiet as most students and staff were at home.

Absolutely back breaking work but a really enjoyable job!
